Killing cats

According to QI and NYU

If a cat jumps (or is pushed) from a window of a tall building injuries to the animal will increase from the ground floor to ~ floor 5 or 6.

Thereafter the cat is able to reach a velocity that enables it to stablse it's decent and parachute down to the ground mitigating the risk of any physical damage.

So a cat is more likely to survive falling from the 10th floor of a building in NYC than one that falls from the 5th.
